Anesthesiology and critical care medicine is an essential part of modern surgical treatment. Advances in anesthesia have made complex procedures safer and more effective, while modern pain management techniques play a vital role in enhancing patient comfort and quality of life.
The anesthesiology team at Nam Sai Gon International General Hospital includes highly experienced physicians, many of whom previously worked at national-level hospitals such as Cho Ray Hospital and the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City.
-
Mastery of advanced techniques, including:
- Anesthesia and critical care for organ transplant surgeries: lung, liver, kidney, and limbs
- Aortic arch replacement
- Tracheal resection and anastomosis
- Aortic aneurysm repair
- Thoracic surgeries and thoracoscopic lobectomy
- Laparoscopic abdominal surgeries
- Neurosurgeries (e.g., brain tumor removal)
- Spinal reconstruction surgery
- Microsurgical reconstruction
Effective application of modern anesthesia techniques:
- Controlled hypotensive anesthesia for brain tumor surgeries
- Therapeutic hypothermia for aortic arch reconstruction
- Target-controlled infusion (TCI) anesthesia
- Monitoring anesthetic depth, muscle relaxation, and pain level
- Continuous warming and temperature monitoring throughout surgeries
- Postoperative pain management using:
- PCA (epidural or intravenous)
- Nerve blocks
- Combined spinal-epidural anesthesia
- Selective spinal anesthesia for elderly patients
Application of high-frequency ventilation in tracheal resection and reconstruction
Ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, including brachial plexus and peripheral nerve blocks
Use of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) to assess cardiac function during:
- Open-heart surgery
- Lung transplantation
- Care for critically ill patients
